Tyler is an interdisciplinary professional with 28 years of international experience. His diverse leadership experience encompasses developing and managing programs and projects, infrastructure management, business development, consulting, design, and engineering. His educational background includes a PhD in Environmental Design and an Interdisciplinary Masters in Public Administration and Urban Design from Texas Tech University, as well as a BS in Ocean Engineering from Texas A&M. He is a Nationally Certified Public Manager (NCPMC) and a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society.

Upon graduating from Texas A&M, Tyler served as a Navy Officer in the Civil Engineer Corps in the US and Iceland. As an officer, he designed and managed the construction of multi-million dollar quality-of-life projects, oversaw $60M in capital improvement projects, and served as Director of Engineering and Public Works for Camp Lejeune’s 1.2M ft2 hospital and medical campus serving a military community of 140,000. Tyler received the Navy/Marine Commendation Medal for his meritorious achievement and innovative leadership of 180 personnel.

After honorably relinquishing his Navy Commission, Tyler held leadership positions including Head of International Business Development and Engineering for Chaparral Steel, Program Manager for DoD FCS projects, and Vice President of A&R for Lyric Vinyl Records. Tyler is the founding board member of the Center for Environmental Placemaking and Design, a non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to reviving rural towns. Furthermore, he is the senior advisor to La Hesperia, a historic Ecuadorean cloud-forest ecological research station and coffee plantation. Tyler enjoys hiking mountains, cooking for friends, riding horses, motorcycling, and photographing interesting places along his travels.

Teague has served in some of the most dangerous places on the planet as a U.S. Marine. Along with his devotion to his country and family, Teague is an accomplished writer and musician. Teague received a B.A. in Central and East European Studies from Texas Tech University. After graduating from Texas Tech, Teague attended the US Marine Corps’s Officer Candidates Course and received his commission as an Officer of Marines. As a Marine, Teague has served overseas leading small, specialized teams in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Secure Tomorrow, and Joint Task Force Liberia.

Teague resigned his Commission honorably after four years of active duty in the Marine Corps and continued to serve in the US Marine Corps Reserve. He moved to Austin, TX where he began work in the private sector as a competitive intelligence and business analyst for corporations supporting the defense industry. While in Austin, he pursued a career as a singer and songwriter. He is published as a registered BMI songwriter with LyricVinyl Records and is an accomplished musician.

After several years as a performing artist and competitive intelligence and business analyst, Teague found himself returning to active duty. Currently, he serves full-time as Lieutenant Colonel in the Marine Corps, supporting Pentagon operations. Teague holds a Masters in Military Policy and Diplomacy. His global perspective and varied experiences have brought tremendous value to Thrive Venture customers by providing competitive intelligence analysis and operational know-how.
